Chery Starts Local Production Of Offroad J6 SUV Models In Indonesia

JAKARTA - After being introduced at the GIIAS 2024 last July, Chery J6 is now entering a new chapter with the start of local production or Completely Knocked Down (CKD).

Head of Brand Department of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, Rifkie Setiawan, revealed that the local production process also affirms Chery's commitment to bringing global standard automotive innovations, which are specially designed to meet the needs of Indonesian consumers.

"This local production shows Chery's commitment to presenting products that not only meet the needs of the community, but also immediately fulfill the delivery promise to consumers," he said, in an official statement received on Thursday, November 21.

Furthermore, Ilham said, Chery made an appointment to send units to consumers in December 2024, for those who ordered them at the GIIAS 2024 exhibition.

This off-road-style car will also be officially launched at the 2024 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) event, which will take place from November 22 to December 1.

"The presence of Chery J6 at GJAW 2024 will be an important momentum for consumers who have not seen and experienced the advantages of electric cars with the first light off-road capability in Indonesia with a premium, trendy, and stylish box design. You can test direct drives too," he added.

In specifications, Chery J6 offers a driving experience that can cover a distance of up to 426 km in the RWD and 418 km variants of the AWD variant based on the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) method. Fast acceleration of 0-100 km/hour is only 6.5 seconds in the AWD variant.

This car also comes with eight driving modes that can even be adjusted based on needs. Chery J6 is able to provide flexibility for various road and terrain conditions, both for adventures and daily use.

The price has not yet been revealed, but it is predicted that it will be announced at GJAW and is at Rp700 million. Interested in this car?
