Ridwan Kamil: Kredit Mesra, a Solution Free from Online Loan and Support for Jakarta MSMEs
JAKARTA – Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Ridwan Kamil introduced the Prosperous Economic Community Credit (Kredit Mesra) program as a solution for low-income people to escape the trap of online loans (pinjol).
This program is also expected to support the development of MSMEs in Jakarta, which covers more than 90 percent of businesses in the capital city.
"Kredit Mesra targets those who are unbankable, without collateral, with low interest. So far, this group has been forced to go to pinjol with very high interest," said Ridwan Kamil on the Mata Najwa show, Thursday (11/21).
He explained that this program has been successful in West Java with a non-performing loan (NPL) rate of almost zero thanks to group-based management.
Kredit Mesra provides loans ranging from IDR 500 thousand to IDR 10 million for small businesses, such as coffee traders to meatball stall owners. In addition to business capital, Ridwan Kamil also plans to hold supporting activities, such as car free night in 44 sub-districts of Jakarta to provide additional business opportunities.
In addition, Kang Emil is committed to opening 1 million jobs for various groups, including Gen Z, with a target of 600 thousand formal jobs, 300 thousand informal jobs, and 100 thousand labor-intensive sectors.

"Gen Z is often squeezed, not a vulnerable or established group. We give them space," he added.
This program is expected to be a practical solution to improve the economy of the Jakarta community and support the welfare of residents.
