Government Plans To Rebuild Kebon Kacang And Tanah Abang Flats

JAKARTA - The government, in this case the Ministry of SOEs, plans to revitalize several assets belonging to Perum Perumnas in the DKI Jakarta area.

This revitalization will target flats or Kebon Kacang and Tanah Abang Flats.

The plan was revealed by Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo after meeting with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 20.

"We also have some who are old and low-rise, only 4 floors, such as in Kebon Kacang, and Tanah Abang. We will have revitalization that we encourage later," he said.

Tiko, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo's nickname, said that this revitalization was carried out by changing occupancy vertically with a height of 20 floors. He said this step was so that more people could enjoy the flats.

In addition, he continued, this step is also to support the program of three million houses launched by President Prabowo Subianto.

Perumnas' flat, which is only four to five floors high, will turn it into a vertical residence. We will look for more passive land belonging to the state to help the target of building three million houses," he said.

Tiko said that the first step in revitalization was to first move the people who inhabit the low flats.

The residents will be able to return again after being completed.

"We want the people who are already here to move them first, we build a high one, so that more people can be here. We'll come back there later," he said.
