Following The US, The Greek And Spanish Embassys In Kyiv Were Also Closed

JAKARTA - The Greek and Spanish Embassys in Kyiv closed to the public today, after airstrike sirens were activated in the Ukrainian capital several times overnight.

The Greek Embassy in Kyiv told CNN operations were closed on Wednesday, November 20 for security reasons.

The Spanish Embassy in Kyiv will also be closed today after receiving information about a possible massive airstrike in the city, Spanish media reported EFE.

The decision of Greece and Spain two NATO members to close their embassy following last night's US warning they had received information about a possible large Russian airstrike in Kyiv.

The US Embassy asked its employees to take shelter on the spot while urging Americans to prepare for shelter immediately if any air warnings were announced.

The sound of drones and air defense systems being activated was heard across the capital overnight, including the city center, according to CNN's Kyiv team.
