Papuan Police Chief Claims Conducive Security Situation Ahead Of The Election
JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Patrige Renwarin said the security situation in four provinces in Papua was relatively conducive ahead of voting in the 2024 Pilkada.
"The security situation in the jurisdiction of the Papua Police which includes four provinces is relatively safe and under control. However, members of the National Police involved in securing the regional elections are asked to remain alert and vigilant," said Kapoldujadian ANTARA, Wednesday, November 20.
According to the Kapolda, of the four provinces in the jurisdiction of the Papua Regional Police, two of them were categorized as vulnerable to security, namely Papua Mountains and Central Papua.
But the Kapolda believes that the implementation of the regional elections in Papua will be peaceful.
The Papuan Police have deployed 10,000 personnel to 29 Polres and Polresta who will later be on duty starting from escorting logistics distribution to securing TPS.
In addition, the Papuan Police also received assistance from 300 Brimob members from the National Police Headquarters.
Four provinces located in the jurisdiction of the Papua Police are Papua Province, Papua Mountains, Central Papua and South Papua.
