Sharing Tasks With BNPB, Managing And Maintenance Of Disaster Victims Held By The Ministry Of Social Affairs

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) strengthen cooperation in efforts to deal with victims of natural disasters in evacuations.

Head of BNPB Suharyanto said, in detail the division of tasks for evacuation clusters, community care affected by disasters under the Coordinator of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

He said he was optimistic that with the division of tasks, the quality of evacuation services for disaster victims could be better. In the same place, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf added, the cooperation was more about concrete division of tasks in the field related to the handling of evacuations and perfecting what had been done before.

His party gave an example, in this case, the strengthening of human resources and the distribution of information between the Ministry of Social Affairs and BNPB was carried out. One of the goals is to accelerate the distribution of disaster emergency assistance.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has 668 social granaries spread across every disaster-prone district/city, so if a disaster occurs, officers will immediately distribute it at that time according to the needs reported by BNPB and the local government.

This social barn is ready for evacuation tents, family tents, blankets and also clothes for pregnant women and children, including ready-to-eat food. If it is not sufficient from what is being held, it will be strengthened by BNPB, including the evacuation tent," he said, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo.

Saifullah emphasized that the focus of strengthening this cooperation was only in a disaster emergency when it was already at the post-disaster rehabilitation stage that BNPB would completely complete it with relevant ministries or institutions.
