Oriential Drummer Bee Gees Colin Peterson Dies At The Age Of 78

JAKARTA - The original drummer for Bee Gees, Colin Peterson, reportedly died on Monday, November 18. He breathed his last at the age of 78.

The news of Peterson's death, was first announced by his current band, Best of The Bee Gees, via uploads on Facebook.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of our good friend Colin 'Smiley' Petersen," read a statement from Best of The Bee Gees.

"He enriched our lives and tied up our group with love, attention, and respect. Not sure how we can continue to live without his cheerful smile and close friendship. We love you, Col. Rest in peace."

However, it did not explain in more detail the cause of death.

Peterson's departure is clearly a big sorrow for Bee Gees and his fans, considering Dennis Bryon (ex- drumer) just passed away on November 14.

Meanwhile, Colin Petersen was the first drummer for Bee Gees to join Barry, Robin, and Maurice in 1966, when the band decided to move from Australia to England.

He is a drummer for the early recording of Bee Gees, with several famous songs such as 'New York Mining Disaster 1941', 'To Lovemen', 'Holiday,' I've Gotta Get a Message to You', and I Started a Joke.

His journey with the Gibb brothers did not last long enough. He decided to leave the Bee Gees in 1969, after releasing four albums, namely Bee Gees 1st (1967), Horizontal (1968), Idea (1968), and Odessa (1968).
