He explained, from one 3 kg subsidized LPG gas cylinder, ten to eleven portable gas cylinders of various brands can be produced.
The transfer of gas from a 3 kg subsidized LPG gas cylinder to a portable gas cylinder is carried out using an syringe, namely a modified homemade gas regulator.
Then a balance is carried out with digital weighing tools to find out the weight of each portable gas cylinder.
"The profit obtained by the suspect was from the supply of a subsidized 3 kg LPG gas cylinder of around Rp. 30,000 to Rp. 50,000," he said.
Sales are made online through online platforms, pay on the spot (cash on delivery) until conventionally or consumers come directly to the suspect's residence.
"The suspect managed to attract consumers because the price offered was much cheaper than the official price/market price," he said.
Indrawienny said that the mixing of 3 kg LPG gas into the gas table was not going through the right process so it could potentially threaten safety or security.
The police chief appealed to the public not to buy portable gas cylinders below market prices because they have the potential to threaten safety and security because they are flammable.
"For the perpetrators who are still carrying out the practice of mixing 3 kg LPG gas subsidized into portable gas cylinders so that they can be stopped from now on because we will definitely take firm action in the form of arrests," he said.
