Ukraine Using US ATACMS Missile Serang Bryansk, Russia Considers Western Signals Wanting Conflict To Spread

JAKARTA - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Ukraine's attack on the Bryansk region in Russia used the ATACMS missile supplied by the United States (US). The use of ATACMS missiles is a clear signal that the West wants to increase the conflict in Ukraine.

"The fact that ATACMS was used repeatedly in the Bryansk region overnight, of course, is a signal that they want an escalation," Lavrov, speaking in Rio de Janeiro, told reporters.

"Without America, it is impossible to use this high-tech missile, as Putin has repeatedly said," Lavrov said.

Russia says Ukraine fired six US-made ATACMS missiles into the western region of Bryansk.

Lavrov said he hoped Moscow's new nuclear doctrine, where President Vladimir Putin lowered the nuclear attack threshold, would be read carefully.

Vladimir Putin has previously said Western approval for the Ukrainian attack means the direct involvement of NATO countries, the United States and European countries in the war in Ukraine as NATO military infrastructure and personnel must be involved in targeting and firing missiles.
