Banking Crime, Manipulation Shareholder Deposit BPR Fianka Arrested By Riau Police

JAKARTA - The Riau Regional Police (Polda) arrested a major shareholder at the Fianka People's Credit Bank (BPR) named Helen on suspicion of banking crimes related to deposit manipulation.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at the Riau Police, Kombes Pol Nasriadi, said that this case stems from the alleged manipulation of deposit disbursement in May 2024, causing damage to banks.

Helen allegedly ordered the board of directors and commissioners of BPR Fianka to illegally disburse 22 deposits.

"This action violates banking regulations and has the potential to violate several laws," Nasriadi said in Pekanbaru, Tuesday, November 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

Nasriadi added that his party would continue to investigate this case and open up the possibility of a new suspect. Helen was also arrested at his residence on Jalan Karya Agung, Pekanbaru, Friday night, November 15.

"We are committed to thoroughly investigating this case and providing a deterrent effect to the perpetrators of banking crimes," he said.

Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Riau Police Ditreskrimsus, Kompol Teddy Ardian, said that an intensive investigation was carried out after a report was made in August. "On the basis of sufficient evidence, investigators then named Helen as a suspect," said Teddy.

For his actions, Helen is now charged with multiple articles, namely Article 50A of Law Number 10 of 1998 concerning Banking, Article 362 We are the Criminal Law and Articles 3 and 5 of Law no. 8 of 2010 concerning the Crime of Money Laundering.

"This case is expected to be a warning for the banking sector in Pekanbaru to always comply with applicable rules and procedures," he said.
