Chased By Police, 2 Perpetrators Of Motorcycle Robbery Arrested In South Lampung
JAKARTA - The police arrested two perpetrators of motor vehicle theft or robbery armed with firearms who acted in Tanjung Bintang, South Lampung.
Tanjung Bintang Police Chief Kompol Samsari explained that the arrests of the perpetrators were carried out in Triharjo Village, Merbau Mataram District, on Monday 18 November.
"Yes, the team managed to arrest two perpetrators from East Lampung, namely SA (30), and SY (39). Both are residents of Sumber Jaya Village, Way Karya District, East Lampung. From this arrest, the police also secured firearms as evidence," he said in South Lam, Tuesday, November 19, confiscated by Antara.
He said the arrests of the perpetrators were colored by a chase.
One of the perpetrators, SA, even tried to fight back by pulling a firearm from his waist.
"We immediately took measured decisive action to paralyze the perpetrators in order to prevent danger," he said.
During the arrest, according to him, the police confiscated evidence in the form of a revolver along with five bullets, a set of T letter keys, three key children, and a fork knife. These items are strongly suspected of being used in the theft.
"Our team identified two perpetrators based on the characteristics recorded on CCTV. They were seen riding in the Tanjung Bintang Market area, according to the investigation target," he said.

He also explained that the case began with a report of the theft of a Honda Beat motorcycle in the yard of a resident of Kaliasin Village, Tanjung Bintang District, on October 17, 2024.
"In addition to weapons, the police also found stolen motorbikes, several cellphones, masks, helmets, and jackets. The total evidence that was secured supported further case development," he said.
The two perpetrators are now being held at the Tanjung Bintang Police for legal proceedings. They were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with weight, with a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
The Tanjung Bintang Police Chief appealed to the public to be more vigilant, especially when parking vehicles, and immediately report suspicious activities to the police.
