Makassar Polrestabes Detains SLB Teacher Raping Student With Disabilities
Makassar Police Investigators finally detained an Extraordinary School (SLB) teacher with the initials A (34) on suspicion of raping a student with disabilities at Laniang school, Tamalanrea District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
"He has been detained. It is subject to a child protection law, article 76D," said Makassar Police Chief Kombes Mokh Ngajib as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 19.
Investigators refer to Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.
Separately, the attorney for the victim's initials T (15) from LBH Makassar Ambara Dewita Purnama said the act of sexual violence allegedly committed by teachers at SLB added to the poor record of acts of sexual violence that occurred in educational institutions.
"This also shows that even in educational institutions there is no guarantee of a safe space from acts of sexual violence," said Ambara.
From the chronology report submitted by the family of the victim HN (27), his nephew (the deaf) is known to be crying hysterically in front of the room.
After being confirmed, it turned out that the victim had experienced sexual violence at her school by a man with black characteristics.

The victim admitted that he had tried to run but was pulled by the perpetrator, so there were mark marks on the victim's left arm. In addition, the victim has even experienced several sexual violence with the same perpetrator, allegedly carried out in the school toilet.
On November 12, 2024, the victim and his family tried to meet the school and managed to meet the alleged perpetrator after being contacted by the principal, because the victim pointed his bag in the room, but the alleged perpetrator denied it and the school seemed to protect him.
The victim's family finally reported the crime of sexual violence to the Makassar Police so that it could be followed up in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
