NasDem Legislator Asks KPK Capim Johanis Tanak: Still Relevant Not OTT?
JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR from the NasDem faction, Rudianto Lallo questioned the issue of hand arrest operations (OTT) and the prevention of corruption (Tipikor) to the KPK leadership candidate, Johanis Tanak during a fit and proper test this afternoon.
Lallo wants to know Johanis' opinion, whether OTT activities are still relevant for the KPK in the future. Lallo also reminded again about the statement of one of the state officials, in this case the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the last government, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who said that OTT was a village action.
"Pak Johanis Tanak as a former senior prosecutor, there is an interesting statement that one high-ranking OTT official is a village official, a village OTT, if I'm not mistaken I've heard that, is the future OTT still relevant according to Pak Johanis Tanak? Or like what?," said Lallo in the DPR Commission III meeting room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 19.
"Because so many people have been in OTT, many people go in and out of prison but I feel like there is no deterrent effect, sir, now this just needs a correction," he continued.
Or, continued Lallo, whether Johanis Tanak would actually focus on taking action other than OTT. Such as recovering state losses, saving state assets, or increasing state revenue from the results of legal action carried out by the KPK.
"Or for example, in the future, Mr. Johanis Tanak will focus more on recovering thousands of trillions of state losses, then the KPK will work to save and save state assets, for example, increase state revenues, for example, the Natural Resources sector, which is extraordinary, please respond to Mr. Johanis. what kind of loss so that losses that have been large can be patched through law enforcement," said Lallo.
Because according to him, the goal of law enforcement must have benefits for the people. He also highlighted the issue of prevention that became a 'headline' in Johanis Tanak' paper.
The legislator for the South Sulawesi electoral district asked Johanis to explain how the prevention will be carried out if he is elected as the leader of the KPK for the period 2024-2029. Moreover, Johanis suggested that there be a Presidential Decree to regulate the prevention issues carried out by anti-corruption agencies.
"Earlier, it was interesting that the paper submitted by Mr. Johanis Tanak was about prevention, if there is a formulation included in the Presidential Decree. I need further elaboration of what the concept is like," said Lallo.
