Study Of 20 Objects For Cultural Conservation Already Exists, Bantul Regent's Waiting Determination Target

BANTUL - The Culture Office of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, in 2024 targets as many as 20 objects in the region to be designated as cultural heritage and cultural heritage.

"The target for determining this year's cultural heritage is 20 objects, but now it is still in the process of submitting and reviewing by the Bantul Regency Cultural Heritage Expert Team," said Head of the Bantul Culture Service, Yanatun Yunadiana when confirmed in Bantul, Antara, Tuesday, November 19.

According to him, a study of the 20 objects has been carried out since October 2024 and has been submitted to the Bantul Regent for a decision letter (SK) to determine the status of the object.

"The study has been in place since October 2024, and has been submitted to the Regent. Hopefully, the target for determining 20 objects has been achieved, but we have not dared to collect it, if there is no regent's signature," he said.

He mentioned that the criteria for objects that can be designated as cultural heritage include those aged 50 years or older, representing the shortest style period aged 50 years, have a special meaning for history, science, education, religion and or culture.

Then it has cultural value for strengthening the nation's personality. The government provides cultural heritage status based on the recommendations of the Cultural Heritage Expert Team.

"The total cultural heritage heritage heritage in Bantul Regency until the end of 2023 is 272 objects, consisting of 191 cultural heritages and 81 cultural heritages," he said.

He said that while the buildings in Bantul Regency that had been designated as cultural heritage buildings as of the end of 2023 amounted to 60 buildings.

"For Bantul, there are three cultural heritage areas, namely the Kotagede Cultural Heritage Area which intersects with cities, the Plered Cultural Conservation Area and the Imogiri Cultural Conservation Area. For the cultural heritage area, the DIY Province is determined through the Governor's Decree," he said.
