Iran Protests European-EU Sanctions, Confirms Missile Delivery To Russia Is Just A False Claim
JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmeil Baghaei said the new EU and UK sanctions were only based on false claims regarding missile shipments to Russia.
The European Union on Monday, November 18, entered the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) and its directors on the sanctions list against Iran, which they say is a consequence of Tehran's support for Russia in its war with Ukraine.
On the same day, Britain imposed sanctions on national airlines and Iranian shipping companies, a move it said was taking in response to Iran's ballistic missile shipments to Russia.

Iran considers the implementation of new sanctions by the European Union and Britain against a number of Iranian individuals and legal entities over false claims of sending ballistic missiles to Russia as unfair acts that go against international law norms, Baghaei said.
He said the European side violated international law, including freedom of navigation and maritime trade, through sanctions.
Since the war on Ukraine began in 2022, Moscow and Tehran have strengthened their military and economic cooperation.
