Indonesian Racer Dypo Fitra Wins Double Winners In TCR Asia Cup

JAKARTA - Delta Garage Racing racer Dypo Fitra scored a double win or double winners in the final round of the TCR Asia Cup at the Guia Circuit, Macau, on Saturday and Sunday, November 16-17, 2024. A total of five trophies were brought home.

Dypo said he won first place in the cup class in those two days. He relied on Hyundai Elantra N, which is a Korean manufacturer, but was made in Germany.

In addition, Dypo also won the overall champion trophy or a combination of pros and cup classes.

"So, thank God, I was in Macau last Saturday to get an overall Asian number three position. On Sunday I got the number one overall in Asia," Dypo told reporters when contacted Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Dypo then occupies the runner-up position of the final TCR Asia Series 2024 Cup Class. He has not been able to beat another Indonesian racer, Benny Santoso.

"I had an event that didn't participate because of the pilgrimage. So, I'm 30 points behind the first place," he said.

Furthermore, this victory called Dypo is not without difficulties. Weather and limited training time are obstacles encountered.

"In Macau, the circuit is a highway. It was closed on Thursday, Thursday we tried to test the car for two sessions and then it rained," said Dypo.

"So, during our race, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it was raining. On Sunday, final, it suddenly rained. We also have to delay for about 1.5 hours, starting again. So, the weather is very difficult," he said again.

Then, he also said that the Guia Circuit gave its own challenges.

"So, the circuit is the highway. It's very narrow for fellow riders to overtake, it can only be done on the track straight after the start. The rest can't," said Dypo.
