The House Of Representatives Has Officially Passed The Revision Of The DKJ Law At The Plenary Meeting

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives has officially ratified the Revision of Law Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Province of the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ). The approval of the ratification of the DKJ Law was taken at the 8th Plenary Meeting of the DPR During Session I 2024-2025, Tuesday, November 19.

The plenary session ratification of the DKJ Bill was held a day after the bill was passed at the first level of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR, Monday, November 18, evening.

Eight factions approved that the DKJ Bill was brought to the Plenary Session. Only the PKS faction gave a note.

"It is time for us to ask for the approval of the factions of the Bill on amendments to Law Number 20 of 2024 concerning the Province of DKJ, can it be approved into law?" asked Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Adies Kadir as the chair of the meeting.

"Agreed," replied all members of the council present.

The revision of the DKJ Law in general does not change the articles in it. The DPR Baleg only added the four new articles related to the nomenclature of DKI to DKI Jakarta.

The following is a list of 4 additional articles:

Article 70A

At the time this Law came into effect, the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta as a result of the 2024 Jakarta Capital Special Region Governor and Deputy Governor Election were declared Governor and Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Jakarta.

Article 70B

When this Law came into effect, Members of the Regional House of Representatives of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta Province, as a result of the General Election of Members of the Regional House of Representatives of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta in 2024, were declared Members of the Regional House of Representatives of the Special Region of Jakarta Province.

Article 70C

At the time this Law came into effect, Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, as a result of the General Election of Members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024 Jakarta Capital Special Regional Election, was declared Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Regional Election for the Special Region of Jakarta.

Article 70D

At the time this Law came into effect, Member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, as a result of the General Election of Members of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024 Jakarta Capital Special Regional Election, was declared to be a Member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, the Election Area for the Special Region of Jakarta.
