Police Secure 4 Cases Of Gelper Destruction In Pekanbaru
RIAU - Riau Regional Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pekanbaru City Police have arrested four people suspected of being involved in the vandalism and clashes in the game arena (gelper) under the guise of car washes on Jalan Beli Tambusai, Pekanbaru, yesterday.
Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Anom Caribbeanto, said that until now the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pekanbaru Police and the Riau Police had examined 11 witnesses. They consist of local security officers, the community and the tenants of the place.
"Until now, the police are still collecting evidence and pursuing the people involved in this incident. We will update the progress later. We will emphasize it," he said when confirmed in Pekanbaru, Antara, Tuesday, November 19.
Regarding the cause of the riots, until now the police are still investigating it. However, he ensured that there was no place in Riau for people who committed criminal acts.
According to him, in accordance with the notification made by the IB Pekat Community Organization that they will hold a demonstration at PT PHR. But somehow suddenly turned into vandalism in the car wash.
"As a result of this incident, one person was injured and is currently undergoing a post-mortem," he said.
Pekanbaru Police Chief Kombes Jeki Rahmat Mustika said that he is currently investigating and will enforce the law against those who destroy this. However, he said the initial clashes were due to misunderstanding between individuals.
