Five Improvements That Will Appear On The IPhone SE 4 Early Next Year
JAKARTA - After the release of the iPhone 16 lineup to the market, many began to wonder what the next step would be for Apple. Although maybe some are thinking about the iPhone 17, the latest product that will come sooner is the iPhone SE 4, if there is no delay.
The iPhone SE 4 is slated for release next spring, about six months from now. This phone will be the first iPhone SE update in three years and will likely be the biggest change since the presence of the SE model.
New Design, Better ScreenApple has been using the iPhone 8 design since the iPhone SE 2 in 2020, with 4.7-inch LCD screens, curved edges, and home buttons. However, the next generation iPhone SE is predicted to leave the design.
Instead, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a design similar to the iPhone 14, featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display, a design with a flat side, Face ID, and a smaller notch. However, this device is likely to still retain a single camera like the previous series.
According to screen analyst Ross Young, the iPhone SE 4 will use the same 6.1-inch OLED panel as the iPhone 14, produced by BOE and LG Display.
USB-C
Unlike the current iPhone 14 and SE models, the iPhone SE 4 will use the USB-C connector, replacing the Lightning port. This change is largely due to EU regulations that require all devices with charging ports to use a uniform connector, namely USB-C. This move follows the iPhone 15 lineup which first switched to USB-C.
Better Camera
Another significant improvement is in the camera sector. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to use a 48MP rear sensor like the one used on the iPhone 15, jumping away from the 12MP sensor on the SE 3. The 12MP front camera used on the iPhone 15 is also likely to be present on the iPhone SE 4, replacing the older 7MP selfie camera.
Apple Intelligence
According to a Bloomberg report from Mark Gurman, the next generation iPhone SE will support Apple Intelligence features with an A18 processor and 8GB RAM. This includes features such as smart writing tools, photo refinement, Genmoji, image playgrounds, notification summarys, and the latest Siri.
Apple's First Modem
The iPhone SE 4 will be the first device to use Apple's own modem. This modem, codenamed Centauri, will handle 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity. This step is part of Apple's efforts to reduce dependence on Qualcomm.
iPhone SE 4 Price
Rumors say that the price of the latest generation of iPhone SE will rise to around $499. However, this is still considered a fairly competitive price for phones with modern features.
