Five Improvements Coming to the iPhone SE 4 Early Next Year
JAKARTA - After the release of the iPhone 16 series to the market, many have begun to wonder what Apple's next steps are. Although some may be thinking about the iPhone 17, the latest product that will be present sooner is the iPhone SE 4, if there is no delay.
The iPhone SE 4 is scheduled to be released next spring, about six months from now. This phone will be the first update to the iPhone SE in the last three years and will most likely be the biggest change since the presence of the SE model.
New Design, Better Screen
Apple has continued to use the iPhone 8 design since the iPhone SE 2 in 2020, with a 4.7-inch LCD screen, curved edges, and a home button. However, the next generation iPhone SE is predicted to abandon this design.
Instead, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a design similar to the iPhone 14, featuring a 6.1-inch OLED screen, a flat-sided design, Face ID, and a smaller notch. However, this device is likely to still maintain a single camera like the previous series.
According to display analyst Ross Young, the iPhone SE 4 will use the same 6.1-inch OLED panel as the iPhone 14, manufactured by BOE and LG Display.
USB-C
Unlike the iPhone 14 and current SE models, the iPhone SE 4 will use a USB-C connector, replacing the Lightning port. This change is largely due to European Union regulations requiring all devices with charging ports to use a uniform connector, namely USB-C. This move follows the iPhone 15 series which was the first to switch to USB-C.
Better Camera
Another significant improvement is in the camera department. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to use a 48MP rear sensor like the one used on the iPhone 15, a big jump from the 12MP sensor on the SE 3. The 12MP front camera used on the iPhone 15 is also likely to be present on the iPhone SE 4, replacing the older 7MP selfie camera.

Apple Intelligence
According to a Bloomberg report from Mark Gurman, the next-generation iPhone SE will support Apple Intelligence features with an A18 processor and 8GB of RAM. This includes features such as smart writing tools, photo enhancements, Genmoji, image playground, notification summary, and the latest Siri.
Apple's First Modem
The iPhone SE 4 will be the first device to use Apple's own modem. This modem, codenamed Centauri, will handle 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. This move is part of Apple's efforts to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm.
iPhone SE 4 Price
Rumors have it that the price of the latest generation iPhone SE will increase to around USD 499 (IDR 7.9 million). However, this is still considered a fairly competitive price for a cellphone with modern features.
