Samsung Claims Have Found Solutions To Large Camera Bounce Problems On Smartphones
JAKARTA Samsung has just announced a revolutionary solution which is expected to be able to address the increasingly large camera bulge problem on modern smartphones. For example, devices such as the Vivo X200 Pro and the Oppo Find X8 Pro offer extraordinary photography capabilities and remote zoom, but must be paid for with a prominent camera design and reduce device aesthetics, as well as cause problems of use, such as instability when placed on a flat surface.
The latest innovation from Samsung, ISOCELL ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) technology, is designed to provide a high-quality photography experience without sacrificing sleek and ergonomic designs on devices.
Samsung's ALoP technology presents a new approach in the design of a telephoto camera by placing the lens horizontally inside the smartphone body. Instead of vertically stacking the lens between the prism and image sensor, ALOP plans the lens flatly parallel to the phone. This innovation allows an increase in the effective pupil diameter (EPD), which produces a brighter lens opening without increasing the camera's bulge height.
By utilizing the 40-deg tilted prism and 10-dwarf sensor assemblies, ALoP technology reduces the height and length of the telephoto camera module by up to 22% compared to conventional designs. The result is a thinner and less striking camera bulge, keeping the consumer's expected slim profile from premium smartphones.
Samsung is reportedly planning a Slim' model as part of the Galaxy S25 lineup, which is anticipated to be released separately by 2025. This model will probably be the debut of ALoP's new camera technology, with further improvements to the Galaxy S26 series.

The advantages of SamsungALoP Technology The design of innovative lenses on ALoP supports the f/2.58 aperture at 80mm focal length, providing brighter images and minimal noise even in dim light conditions. Unlike conventional telephoto optics, ALoP places large lenses in front of prisma, thus improving the performance of night photography.
The design of the ALoP not only minimizes the dimensions of the camera module but also introduces a circular lens shape, replacing a less attractive square-folding prism. This improvement makes the camera bulge more not striking and in line with the overall design of the phone.
With a smaller and flatter camera bulge, the smartphone can be placed more stable on a flat surface, increasing the ergonomics. Users no longer need to worry about the seesaw problem due to the camera module being too thick.
