Pramono Will Combine Ahok-Anies Program Handling Floods: Orange Troops And Infiltration Wells
JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Candidate number 3 Pramono Anung admitted that he would combine the Jakarta flood prevention program that was run from the leadership of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) to Anies Baswedan.
Pramono said he would again mobilize public infrastructure and facilities (PPSU) or orange troops. In fact, Pramono will make it easier for PPSU applicants to become only elementary school graduates.
"From Mr. Ahok, our orange troops will be more massive in managing the channels in Jakarta, because the problem is actually flat," said Pramono in Cilandak, South Jakarta, Monday, November 18.
Meanwhile, Pramono will again run a vertical infiltration or drainage well construction program initiated in the Anies era. However, Pramono admitted that he would pay attention to the locations for its construction to be more effective.
"Yes, what Mr. Ahok and Mr. Anies have done, I will definitely continue. So, infiltration wells will be built in places that do not interfere with transportation activities," Pramono explained.
Some time ago, Pramono had revealed that he would continue to build infiltration wells. Although, Pramono realized that the construction of infiltration wells was often criticized, even opposed by the DKI Jakarta DPRD, especially the PDIP faction because it was considered ineffective in controlling floods.
The DPRD also had time to remove the budget allocation for infiltration wells proposed by the DKI Provincial Government. Thus, the progress of adding infiltration well points is slow because it only uses the remaining budget.
"It's okay (to continue the construction of infiltration wells). I'm different from my DPRD, it's okay. I'm not the DKI DPRD. I'm a candidate for governor, of course I see what's good, what's not good," Pramono said at his residence, Kemang, South Jakarta, Friday, September 27.

The former Cabinet Secretary emphasized that there would be no problem if he continued the previous governor's idea program. In overall flood management, Pramono assessed the need for synergy between the regional government and the central government.
This has been done by the operation of the Sukamahi and Ciawi reservoirs by the central government which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in December 2022. Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government activated pumps that drain the water flow in the river so as not to overflow into settlements when the rain arrives.
Then, if there is another program that can reduce the impact of flooding, Pramono continued, he will run it, including infiltration wells.
"Various ways must be done. I am not the person who then (disputes) Mr. Anies, who owns this," said Pramono.
