Prabowo Learns Poverty Reduction From Visit To China-Brazil
Head of the Poverty Reduction Acceleration Agency (BP Taskin) Budiman Sudjatmiko assessed that President Prabowo Subianto would study poverty alleviation through his state trips from China to Brazil.
Budiman said the reason why China and Brazil were part of a series of inaugural state visits that Prabowo had made since being inaugurated as President was because the two countries were considered successful in poverty alleviation.
"The APEC Summit also raises the issue of poverty. So there will be a lot of souvenirs brought by the President to share poverty alleviation experiences in two countries that are quite successful, and the APEC multilateral meeting which also discusses poverty," Budiman said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 18.
Budiman explained that one of the strategic achievements of President Prabowo's visit to China and the APEC Summit in Peru was related to poverty.
China, said Budiman, is considered one of the successful pilot countries in removing around 100 million people from extreme poverty.
Budiman detailed that poverty alleviation in China is carried out through the opportunity so that poor people can be involved in business activities, even in remote areas through digital connectivity.
Then, after coming from China and the United States, Prabowo also attended the APEC Summit in Peru which in his speech, the President also mentioned poverty.

Currently, the President is still in Brazil to attend the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Prabowo has also attended the Indonesia-Brazil business forum which was held on Sunday (17/11) local time and is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting.
"Incidentally, the President of Brazil, Inacio Lula da Silva, in the previous period, also succeeded in eliminating poverty in the Brazilian community which was quite successful. And he was re-elected (as President)," said Budiman.
Budiman said the agency he leads, BP Taskin, is formulating a master plan for poverty alleviation in Indonesia.
After returning from the national visit, Budiman hopes that President Prabowo can provide directions on poverty alleviation from the results of discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Inacio Lula da Silva.
