JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR asked the Central Java Regional Police to immediately complete the investigation and determination of the suspect in the case of the death of Doctor Aulia Risma Lestari who committed suicide because she was suspected of being bullied.
"Oknum-oknum yang bertanggung jawab kita pastikan akan bertanggung jawab secara hukum dan sistem pendidikannya kita mendorong untuk sama-sama diperbaiki," kata Ketua Komisi III DPR Habiburokhman saat rapat pengaraian umum dengan keluarga akhir Aulia Risma dilansir ANTARA, Senin, 18 November.
He encouraged the police report Number: LP/B/123/IX/2024/JATENG/SPKT/CENTRAL JAVA REGIONAL POLICE regarding the Aulia Risma case to be thoroughly, transparently, and professionally processed, and ensure that the victim's family has legal certainty and justice.
Commission III of the DPR also asked the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology to cooperate with the Ministry of Health to evaluate the Specialist Doctors Education Program (PPDS) in all universities in Indonesia, especially related to study hours, seniority, bullying, and frequent extortion practices.
Meanwhile, DPR member Soedison Tandra said the similar case that happened to Aulia Risma was like an iceberg phenomenon.
According to him, specialist medical education is an education with a very closed system.
The DPR must also explore further regarding cases of alleged bullying within PPDS as a whole because if it is implemented partially, similar cases will continue to arise.
"Because this involves people's lives, what is wrong is said to be wrong, what is true is said to be true. Therefore, the leadership, we must solve this problem completely," said Soedison.
Previously, Doctor Aulia Risma, a student of PPDS Undip was found dead suspected of committing suicide on Monday (12/8) night, in her boarding house in Lempongsari, Gajahmungkur, Semarang.
