Shooting Perpetrator In Depok Becomes Suspect, Police: He Claims To Be TNI Family

Depok Metro Police named a member of the TNI family as a suspect in the beating that began with the shooting on Jalan Bandung Blok M, Cinere, Depok City, Java.

The case, which occurred on October 2, 2024, was reported on October 16, 2024, and recently the legal process has a clear case. The perpetrator with the initials P became a suspect.

"Sudah tersangka, dikenakan Pasal 351 KUHP KUHP dengan penganiayaan biasa dan Undang-Undang Darurat (UUDrt) Nomor 12 Tahun 1951 tentang kepemilikan dan penggunaan senjata tajam," kata Kapolres Metro Depok, Kombes Polisi Arya Perdana, mengutip Antara, Senin, 18 November 2024.

Arya also explained that when he was taken to the Cinere Police Station on Saturday, October 16, 2024 for questioning, the suspect with the initials P was known to have a firearm ownership permit. Then the police checked related to his beating and the reason for firing a gun.

"Well, if it's from the firearm permit, it's not the TNI, it's a civilian. The permit is a weapon for self-defense," he said.

Arya added but there are many criteria for self-defense.

"We cannot remove any weapons for such actions. This is still being investigated," he said.

Then regarding the perpetrator who claimed to be a member of the TNI, Arya explained that the perpetrator only claimed to be a family member of the TNI.

"Silih. He admitted that his family was the TNI, from the language after we studied it again by telephone who recorded the activity, claiming to be the TNI's family. So it's not claiming to be the TNI," he said.

Regarding the permit for possession of firearms, Arya explained, the permit was issued by the National Police as long as it met the requirements.

"If martial arts is in a state of urgency, it continues to threaten his life or threaten the lives of others, he can use it (senpi)," he said.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Police Ade Ary Syam Indradi explained that the case occurred on October 2, 2024 and was reported to the Polda Metro Jaya on October 16, 2024.

"Initially the incident the victim with the initials APSS was driving a car together with his brother. Then there was a fight between the victim and the perpetrator because the two cars that were driven almost hit," he said.

Furthermore, the victim thought it was finished and the victim took care of his business with the client in a place not far from where he was originally.

"About 2 hours later, it was suspected that the perpetrator was deliberately looking for the victim and met him on the road. The perpetrator followed and blocked the victim's car, pointed a firearm at the victim and her brother, stabbed the victim who was still in the car," he said.

Then the perpetrator fired a firearm once into the air / upper direction and fled. For this incident, the complainant suffered injuries around the mouth / mouth.
