APEC Peru Summit Results In Machu Picchu Declaration
JAKARTA - The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC) in Peru, November 13-16, 2024, which was attended by various world leaders, including Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, produced the Declaration of Machu Picchu.

This declaration agrees on strengthening economic cooperation through open and inclusive international trade, with the aim of improving the welfare of small and developing countries and facing the challenges of climate change and other global issues collectively.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized Indonesia's commitment to encourage open, regular, but fair trade in the Leaders' Reaction of the 2024 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit which was held in Lima, Peru.
According to President Prabowo, APEC is a strategic platform to strengthen relations between countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
"Yes, I think APEC's good opportunity, yes, we continue a network, a network between leaders in the Pacific. We discuss many problems where we maintain good trade, which is open but fair. I think that's a good opportunity," said President Prabowo.
President Prabowo also highlighted the importance of well-organized international trade. President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia's position to continue to support regular, open and fair trade.
"We want regular, free but fair trade," he said.
As one of the largest economies in the region, Indonesia is committed to continuing to play an active role in ensuring equality in global trade. At this APEC Summit, President Prabowo held a number of bilateral meetings with leaders of other countries, including discussing steps to strengthen trade relations, increase investment, and explore beneficial new cooperation.
