Deputy Minister Of PKP Fahri Hamzah: Village Head Is The Main Actor For Housing Development In Rural Areas

Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Fahri Hamzah revealed that the village head (kades) is the main actor in the development of people's housing in rural areas.

"The village head is the main actor in the construction of people's housing in rural areas," said Fahri Hamzah in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 17.

Fahri Hamzah asked for the support of village heads to participate in the success of the 3 Million Houses Program according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

The village head is the party who understands the condition of the people's houses so that it is hoped that they can help the government in building community houses in rural areas.

According to him, in the future the construction of public homes must also pay attention to sanitation. Fulfillment of toilet facilities, washing, toilets (MCK) in every house, especially homes for the poor, is also a priority so that they can live a healthy life.

"Currently, there are still many people's homes that do not have MCK facilities and the local government must be ashamed and real on the ground. We must resolve this through a sanitation revolution so that there are no more people whose homes do not have MCK," said Fahri Hamzah.

He also conveyed President Prabowo Subianto's important message that the need for boards is also as important as clothing and food as well as the construction of livable houses for rural communities also needs attention.

In addition, the Housing Task Force also requested that the decent housing development ecosystem in the village be improved by involving all elements of society in mutual cooperation.

He also had time to remind big companies and SOEs not to enter villages in the housing program. However, the role of the local government and the village community must be further optimized because they know exactly the economic conditions and the condition of the people's houses.

"We will mobilize so that the construction of houses in rural areas is more targeted than in urban areas. Don't let city people come to build villages but let villagers build their own homes with the help of the government," said Fahri Hamzah.
