Prabowo Affirms Indonesia's Commitment To Support Fair Trade In Asia Pacific
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed Indonesia's commitment to support open, orderly and fair trade between countries in the Asia Pacific region.
This statement was conveyed by President Prabowo in the Leaders' Retreat of the 2024 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC) which was held in Lima, Peru, Saturday (16/11), local time.
"Yes, I think APEC has a good opportunity, yes, we will continue a network, a network between leaders in the Pacific. We will discuss many problems, where we maintain good, open, but fair trade. I think that is a good opportunity," said President Prabowo through the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, Sunday.
According to President Prabowo, APEC is a strategic platform to strengthen relations between countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including well-organized international trade.
"We want regular, free but fair trade," he said, quoted by Antara.

As one of the largest economies in the region, Prabowo said, Indonesia is committed to continuing to play an active role in ensuring equality in global trade.
At the APEC Summit this time, President Prabowo held a number of bilateral meetings with other countries' leaders, including discussing steps to strengthen trade relations, increase investment, and explore beneficial new cooperation.
The APEC 2024 Summit in Lima is also an important opportunity for Indonesia to fight for inclusive trade that provides benefits, not only for big countries, but also for small and developing economies in the Asia-Pacific region.
Previously, it was reported that President Prabowo attended the Leaders' Retreat session of the APEC 2024 Summit which was held at the Lima Convention Center, Peru. President Prabowo's arrival was greeted directly by the President of Peru, Dina Bouarte.
