Profile Of The Deputy Minister Of Tsani, New President Director Of Garuda Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Military Commander Tsani Panjaitan was officially appointed as the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk replacing Irfan Setiaputra. His appointment was decided at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) which was held today.
The EGMS was held at the Garuda Management Building Auditorium, attended by holders 68,582,827,291 shares, or 74.97 percent of the total shareholders of Garuda Indonesia.
"I will carry out this mandate by conducting a comprehensive financial and operational review, accelerating the company's performance, and expanding the network and improving service quality," said Garuda Indonesia President Director Wamildan Tsani at the EGMS at the Garuda Indonesia Office, Jakarta, Friday, November 15.
The military commander previously had a career as an Acting CEO at PT Lion Air since 2022. He is responsible for developing the company to become the airline with the widest network in Indonesia and the highest number of passengers in Southeast Asia.
Prior to serving as Acting CEO at PT Lion Air, Wamildan had a career at PT. Batik Air Indonesia since 2013, with the last position being the Director of Safety, Security, and Quality.
In addition to occupying management positions in the two airlines, the Military Commander also works as a pilot.
He has been carrying out this profession since 2003, when he served in the Indonesian Air Force as a pilot for the Boeing 737-200 patrol aircraft at the 5 Strategic Reconnaissance Air Squadron at Sultan Hasanuddin Air Base Makassar.

Military Commander Tsani is not new to the world of aviation. He was once a Flying Instructor at Adisucipto Air Base, Yogyakarta.
The man who was born in Wamena in 1981 spent childhood in Jayapura. Then he continued his studies at Taruna Nusantara and Lulua High Schools in 1998.
Then, the Military Commander continued his education at the Air Force Academy, and graduated from Air Force Flying School in 2003. He has also completed several trainings, including Aviation Medicine Couse (Republic of Singapore Air Force, 2007), Instruktor Course (Royal Australian Air Force, 2008), and Squadron Officer School (US Air Force, 2011).
