Air Pollution Makes All Elementary School Students In New Delhi Have To Study At Home

JAKARTA - New Delhi residents are again facing dangerous air pollution today.

This situation was experienced by the Indian citizen again after yesterday all elementary school (SD) students in the area studied at home due to the high level of pollutants.

Citing AFP, Delhi, which is inhabited by more than 30 million people, consistently ranks at the top of the city with high air pollution in winter.

The pollution smoke fog is still an unresistant problem in Delhi and causes thousands of premature deaths each year.

On Thursday 14 November, all education operations at the elementary school level in Delhi were abolished on the orders of the government to avoid students who are very vulnerable to diseases caused by air pollution. Teaching and learning activities were transferred online.

"I have an eight year old child and he has been coughing for the past few days," Delhi resident Satraj said when met in New Delhi.

"The government is doing the right thing by closing schools," he continued.

Yesterday's local government decision also included a ban on construction work operations in Delhi. Including instructions on older diesel-powered vehicle drivers to avoid being exposed to pollution.

The order was followed by the optimization of water trucks to spray highways to clean dust particles from the air. However, based on IQAir, the air quality in Delhi continued to deteriorate to a "dangerous" level for four consecutive days this week.
