Flashback To The 80s: Ferrari Testarossa Bianco Ready To Change Hands

JAKARTA - Ferrari Testarossa with its iconic design and amazing performance has become one of the most famous sports cars in the world.

As a mainstay model for Ferrari during the 1980s, Ferrari Testarossa appeared repeatedly in pop culture, especially in the then-arkade game to the Miami Vice (1984), and even appeared in the films The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), and Straight Outta Compton (2015).

In time, famous Testarossa owners including Elton John, OJ Simpson, Rod Stewart, Michael Jordan, to Mike Tyson.

However, among the thousands of Testarossa that have been produced, only a handful are truly special. One of them is the Ferrari Testarossa Bianco which is currently being sold privately by RM Sotheby's.

This car is said to be an early example of the production of Testarossa which is equipped with a rare configuration "Monospecchio, Monodado". This means that this car has a single rearview mirror in pillar A and wheels with a single bolt. Coupled with a very rare combination of Bianco colors, making this car even more special.

Originally produced in 1986 and shipped to Kuwait. Then, this car was exported to Switzerland in 1989 before finally arriving in the United States in 2001. Since then, this car has been well cared for and undergoing routine maintenance, including replacing the timing belt by GTO Engineering in 2023.

In terms of engine specifications, Testarossa uses a flat--12 Tipo F113 D engine with a capacity of 4,943 cc equipped with 370 PS and 451 Nm torque with acceleration from 0-100 km/hour in 5.8 seconds.

With a distance of less than 34,500 miles (55,200 km), Testarossa is still in excellent condition. This car is equipped with various original features, including the wheels of Monodado, the original marketing literature, and even the original head of the Nagamichi unit.

Obviously, for classic car collectors, the opportunity to have a Ferrari Testarossa in such conditions is quite rare.
