Increasingly Intense, Until Now the Ministry of Communication and Digital Has Blocked 283 Thousand Online Gambling Content

JAKARTA - During the 24 hours until Wednesday, November 13, the Ministry of Communication and Digital has again taken down 6,148 contents related to online gambling (judol).

Thus, from October 20 to November 13, 2024, Kemkomdigi has also decided on 283,230 contents. Of that number, 261,881 contents were distributed via websites and IP.

Then 11,792 used the Meta platform, 5,963 in the form of file sharing, 2,332 google/youtube, 1,153 X accounts, 70 Telegram accounts, 38 TikTok accounts and 1 Appstore.

In addition, two Instagram accounts with large followers, namely @sukahesti_purwadinata with 33.3k followers, @official.nonstop88 with 43.9k followers were immediately prosecuted and blocked.

"In accordance with the direction of the Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid, in eradicating and preventing the spread of judol we will also intensify the provision of digital literacy to community groups," said the Director of Political, Legal and Security Information and Communication, Directorate General of Public Information and Communication, Kemkomdigi, Marroli J. Indarto.

The provision of digital education and literacy also involves communities from various levels of society. They will become digital literacy volunteers.

Komdigi hopes that the younger generation who use digital technology the most can take part in becoming volunteers so that they can protect their environment from the negative impacts of digitalization.

"We need to remind you to always be vigilant and careful in digital activities, especially gambling content and sites," said Marroli.
