Fake Pledge, Prosecutor Demands Defendant Ike Farida 17 Months In Prison

JAKARTA - The defendant in the alleged false oath case, Ike Farida, was sentenced to 17 months in prison. The trial for reading the charges by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) was held at the South Jakarta District Court (PN), Wednesday, November 13.

"Demanding that the Panel of Judges at the South Jakarta District Court who examines and hears this case decide to sentence the defendant to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months minus his detention period," said the Prosecutor.

The prosecutor also demanded that the certificate of ownership (SHM) of one apartment unit and the apartment key that had been handed over by the developer to the defendant be returned to the developer PT EPH.

"The trial with a defense or pledoi agenda will continue on Wednesday, November 20, 2024," said the presiding judge.

The prosecutor's letter contains the initials, the identity of the defendant, the indictment, the results of the evidence, evidence, facts analysis, legal analysis, proof of the indictment, and criminal charges.

The prosecutor read out all the statements of factual and expert witnesses presented at the evidentiary stage.

"That there was a conversation between the defendant and Nurindah MM Simbolon before and after submitting the memorandum of Review and the Novum Oath, the conversation was carried out via WhatsApp Group," said the Prosecutor.

From the statements of the witnesses and experts, the Public Prosecutor believes that the defendant has committed a criminal act of false oath,

"And because the defendant did not want to admit his actions, there was no excuse for the defendant Ike Farida," said the prosecutor.

Meanwhile, the defendant Ike Farida admitted that she was disappointed with the prosecutor's demands. He hopes that the prosecutor can withdraw his demands after the legal advisor submits a memorandum of defense or plea.

"So I am very disappointed because the demands are maximum. Usually 242 is not like that. This is demanded 1.5 years," Ike said after the trial.

"I hope that later when the legal team will provide a pledoi, the Panel of Judges will give the public prosecutor the opportunity to correct his demands, the public prosecutor will issue another charge with demands that I may not be guilty," he concluded.
