Open Exercises, Japan's National Team Squad In Full Formation

JAKARTA - The Japanese national team again held exercises in preparation for the Indonesian national team in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification. On the training agenda held at Field A, Senayan, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the Blue Samurai practice with a complete formation of players.

Previously, Hajime Moriyasu's team had undergone their first training at Field A, Senayan, on Monday, November 11, 2024, Indonesian Western Time (WIB) afternoon. However, in the open exercise, only six players were seen joining.

The six players are Hiroki Sekine, Ritsu Doan, Joel Chima Fujita, Yuto Nagatomo, Takai City, and Kosei Tani. In fact, previously Hajime Moriyasu called 27 players to strengthen his team.

After the first exercise, the Japanese players were later found to have arrived simultaneously in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. That way in an open exercise on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Japan is in complete formation.

In the early 15 minutes of practice, famous players in Europe were seen, such as Liverpool players, Wataru Endo, Koaro Mitoma, Takefusa Kubo, and Zion Suzuki taking part. This exercise the players started the agenda by jogging around the field.

After that, as many as 24 players were divided into several teams to undergo soccer touch training. While the three players who are goalkeepers undergo separate training.

Since the first exercise, Hajime Moriyasu's team underwent serious training. The reason is, in the match against Indonesia on the fifth matchday of Group C, Japan is targeting points to ensure they qualify for the 2026 World Cup finals.

Currently, the Indonesian national team is in fifth place in Group C with three points from three draws and one loss. Meanwhile, Japan is the top of Group C with 10 points.
