Prabowo-Biden Agree RI-US Optimizing Sustainable AI
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto and President of the United States (US) Joe Biden agreed to optimize artificial intelligence (AI) technology to support sustainable development.
This is stated in the Joint Statement document of President Biden and President Prabowo published by the US White House, via the whitehouse.gov page, Tuesday, November 12 local time.
"Both Indonesia and the United States agree that AI and other digital technologies must be optimized to enable sustainable development and bridge the digital divide," said a White House statement quoted in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 13, quoted by Antara.
President Biden and President Prabowo underlined the urgent need to increase capacity building, so that access to AI that is safe and resilient and related digital innovation can be realized.
The two leaders also welcomed the opportunity to expand the radio access network (Open RAN) project in Indonesia.
The expansion of the Open RAN network is carried out by improving the performance of Indonesia's cellular network, creating a safe, resilient, and competitive ecosystem for advanced technology, and providing wider connectivity.

According to the two leaders, collaboration to secure cyberspace must have a common desire, namely to promote a peaceful, safe, and resilient cyberspace as a driver of economic progress.
Therefore, cooperation through knowledge exchange, capacity building, and research cooperation will be carried out in the near future.
Prabowo and Biden also celebrated the US State Department's partnership with the Indonesian Government through International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) funding under the 2022 CHIPS Act.
The US supports Indonesia to increase the capacity of human resources, particularly for the semiconductor industry, as well as collaboration with US universities by optimizing US government support through ITSI funding.
