Bloody Clashes In Deli Serdang, Pomdam I/BB Have Checked 45 Soldiers
JAKARTA - The Commander of the Central Military Police (Danpuspom) TNI Major General Yusri Nuryanto said the Military Police of the Military Region I/Bukit Barisan had examined 45 soldiers of the Medan Artillery Battalion (Yonarmed) 2/Sumagan Islands related to clashes in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.
Yusri said that of the 45 soldiers being questioned, it would be known that soldiers who were directly involved in the clash incident, as provocateurs, or those who were just following along.
"Panglima has also conveyed that the case has been handled by Pomdam I/Bukit Barisan. So, from Pomdam I now has arrested 45 people. Later, of these 45 people will be sorted because it is impossible for these 45 people to join (all of them, ed)," said Danpuspom during a press conference at PRIMA Field, TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, November 13.
A group of people were involved in clashes with a number of Yonarmed 2/KS soldiers in Cinta Adil Village, Biru-Blue District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, last week.
As a result of the incident, a civilian man with the initials RAB (aged 62) died, then eight civilians were injured. Of the eight residents who were injured, three of them were victims of the wrong target.
From the TNI, a soldier with the initials M was reported injured.
"The eight injured victims (civil residents, ed) have been transferred from Sembiring Hospital to Putri Hijau Hospital for the best treatment until they recover," said Head of Information for Kodam (Kapendam) I Bukit Barisan, Infantry Colonel Doddy Yudha in Medan, Sunday (10/11).
Kapendam continued that the Pangdam I/Bukit Barisan Lt. Gen. Mochammad Hasan had met the victim and his family, and mediated at the Yonarmed 2/KS Command Headquarters.
"Pangdam has given direction to all Yonarmed 2 Medan soldiers in order to ensure the situation (returns conducive)," he said.
Kapendam also ensured that the situation had subsided and there was no reply related to the incident in Deli Serdang.
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto when asked for his response regarding the incident explained the incident of clashes between Yonarmed 2/KS soldiers and a number of residents in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, starting with TNI soldiers reprimanding a member of a motorcycle gang for disturbing the community.
The Commander assessed that the existence of motorcycle gangs often disturbs the public and disturbs the order on the road.
