The Majority Of The Community Chooses The Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji Pair In The East Kalimantan Gubernatorial Election Survey

JAKARTA - The National Image Network Institute (CNN) captures the perception of the people of East Kalimantan towards the end of the campaign period and the voting day for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections. As a result, the majority of people chose the Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji pair compared to the incumbent pair, Isran Noor-Hadi Mulyadi as governor and deputy governor of East Kalimantan (Kaltim).

CNN Executive Director Robby Rosiadi stated that the latest survey results recorded the electability of the Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji pair ahead of the Isran Noor-Hadi Mulyadi pair in an open and closed question survey to measure the candidate pair's electability level.

"In the simulation of open questions when the respondents were asked a question, 'In the upcoming 2024 East Kalimantan gubernatorial election, who will be the candidate pair to choose from?', the survey results recorded that Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji's electability rate reached 55.8 percent," said Robby in his statement, Wednesday, November 13.

"Meanwhile, the incumbent electability rate of Isran Noor-Hadi Mulyadi reached 28.6 percent, and 15.6 percent did not answer," he continued.

Then in the simulation of a closed question when the respondents were asked the question, 'In the upcoming 2024 East Kalimantan gubernatorial election, who will you choose from?', the survey results show that Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji's electability reaches 60.7 percent, surpassing the incumbent Isran Noor-Hadi Mulyadi which is at 30.9 percent and who did not choose 8.4 percent.

"This surge in electability shows the effectiveness of the campaign strategy implemented by the challenger couple, such as the Sakti Card program by the Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji pair which is attractive to the people of East Kalimantan, especially women," said Robby.

With a significant difference in electability, continued Robby, the Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji pair has the potential to win the East Kalimantan Pilkada. Moreover, he said, the voting day was in sight, namely on November 27, 2024.

In addition, Robby said, the community has also been determined to establish support with a strong voter figure of 79.8 percent. The survey results also revealed the level of introduction to the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor after the two candidate pairs conducted campaigns and outreach to the public.

"The results of the incumbent pair Isran Noor-Hadi Mulyadi reached an recognition rate of up to 80.1 percent and the Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji pair with an recognition rate of 79.7 percent," said Robby.

"However, the level of public preference for the Isran Noor-Hadi Mulyadi pair only reached 52.8 percent. Meanwhile, the community's liking for the Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji pair reached 78.6 percent," he added.

According to the survey results, said Robby, the couple Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji is considered more able to meet the expectations of the community than the incumbent pair. As for the Rudy Mas'ud-Seno Aji pair, they must find ways to maintain electability to win the fight.

"With a time lag that is only a matter of days, it will certainly be an interesting dynamic, how will the team from each pair of candidates work to maintain or even raise the numbers according to the figures expected to win this contest," concluded Robby.

This CNN survey was conducted in the East Kalimantan region on October 30-9 November 2024 involving 1,850 respondents. Respondents are residents of East Kalimantan Province who are registered in the Permanent Voter List in the 2024 General Election.

Respondents were selected using the multistage random sampling method to ensure accurate representation.

The data collection process was carried out through face-to-face interviews between surveyors and selected respondents with a margin of error value of around 2.28 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
