Prince's Unreleased Album Will Be Sold On Auction

JAKARTA -Matt Fink alias Dr. Fink, the keyboardist of The Revolution as Prince's accompaniment band in the late 1970s until the early 1990s, announced the auction of Prince's album which had never been released before.

The album in question is the recording of Prince's 1979 side project (side project), Rells.

The album, which also features Dez Dickerson, total Cymone, Gayle Chapman, and Bobby Z, was never released because the label felt Prince's image would change because of it.

"Prince did it secretly," Fink said during a recent interview with the Star Tribune.

"And then he came to Warners after the incident and said, 'Look what I've done. Can you do something with this?'," he continued.

Fink said the recording to be auctioned was stored in a pirated cassette. But he admitted to receiving it from Prince directly, and never made piracy.

The auction will be conducted through England-based Popstore on Friday, November 15. Not only Prince's recording, Fink also auctioned off the 1980s synth Oberheim OB-8 which was used on a tour with Prince, mixer used on tours, 39 cassettes recorded during Prince's training, script drafts for Purple Rain, a number of gold and platinum disks, as well as various stage costumes and touring T-shirts.

Not without reason when Fink auctioned off its historic collection. The 66-year-old keyboardist said his children were not interested in his collection, and his music career which was not as good as it used to require him to earn other incomes.

"The income is very inconsistent in this industry. Prince does take care of us, (but) there are difficult times between then and now," concluded Fink.
