Kumamoto Japan Masters 2024: Three Men's Doubles Qualify For The Second Round
JAKARTA Three Indonesian men's doubles pairs who played on the first day of the Kumamoto Masters compactly secured a ticket to the round of 16 on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
The three couples are Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and finally Muhammah Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Martin.
Indonesia's first ticket was secured by Leo/Bagas. The pair escaped after rising from behind to stop the Chinese Taipei doubles, Fang-Chih Lee/Fang-Jen Lee, with a score of 15-21, 21-15, and 21-13.
In the initial draw, Leo/Daniel actually met their colleague, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Martin. However, this did not happen after there were men's doubles who decided to withdraw.
"We are also grateful to be able to avoid Daniel/Fikri in the first half. It's a shame if we have to meet in the beginning. We want to find ranking points together," said Bagas.
