Suspect Of Attacking With Sajam As A Result Of Land Dispute In Serang Detained By Banten Police

JAKARTA - The Banten Police have detained five perpetrators of beatings using sharp weapons due to land disputes that occurred in one of the housing estates in Serang City.

Direskrimum Polda Banten AKBP Dian Setyawan said the suspects who were the perpetrators of the persecution were AJ (57), UC (39), TM (70), NR (34) and MD (60).

Dian said the conflict started with two ownerships of a plot of land on Syech Nawawi Al Street, Bantani.

The owner of the land that has a Ownership Certificate (SHM) is DJ, and the owner of the Sale and Purchase Deed (AJB) is Neneng Aisyah as the housing party of PT BMP.

"Initially, on October 27, the DJ who owns the SHM will build a fence foundation. But security is prohibited, because Neneng has an AJB on the land, so there is a bit of a commotion," said Dian.

Dian explained that there was an element of threats by the DJ from the activity, which claimed that the underground that the fence on it was owned by his family.

The commotion can be mediated by the Banten Police Provos, and a letter of agreement was made, essentially the two parties held back, and did not continue the construction until there was a meeting between the two parties.

Dian said that on November 3, DJs would continue to build the foundation of the fence.

"But a week later, they continued to insist on building the foundation of the fence. So that the security forces came back to ban, there was an argument and the persecution took place," said Dian.

The Neneng victim then made a report at the Banten Police, with the reporter being ED as the BMP housing security guard. The perpetrators of the beating were then taken to the Banten Police office, and named as suspects after the examination.

Five suspects of the abuse were found evidence of a machete, and a long stick of wood as a means of attack.

"So this is purely not criminalization as claimed unilaterally. Based on the facts, one of the perpetrators threatened security using a machete, some hit with wood," he said.

The five suspects were charged with Article 2 of the Indonesian Emergency Law number 12 of 1951, Article 170 of the Criminal Code, and Article 351 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
