The Bandung City Police (Polresta) arrested a female celebrity with the initials DFA (25) suspected of promoting online gambling sites through her social media accounts (medsos).
Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol. Kusworo Wibowo revealed that the suspect had been carrying out his actions for more than two months.
"The suspect used his Instagram account to post online gambling promotions, which allowed his followers to more easily engage in gambling activities," Kusworo said at a press conference in Bandung Regency, Tuesday, November 12, which was confiscated by Antara.
Kusworo revealed that in this way, the suspect promoted two online gambling sites, namely Indo Sultan and Kyoto and earned an income of around Rp. 1.5 million every two weeks.
"The suspect gets financial benefits every time a transaction occurs through promotions," he said.

The suspect, who is known to be from Ciluluk District, Bandung Regency, not only relies on social media to attract attention, but also actively interacts with his followers to facilitate the gambling transaction process.
"Based on his confession, he accepts payments through money transfers regularly," said Kusworo.
Kusworo added that his party will continue to carry out investigations regarding the possibility of wider network involvement in this online gambling crime.
He also appealed to the public to be more aware of fraud and gambling practices that are circulating in cyberspace.
"For his actions, the suspect DFA was charged with Article 27 paragraph 2 of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE) on gambling and Article 303 of the Criminal Code concerning gambling with a threat of 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 billion," he said.
