Iran Builds Israel's Post-attack Defense Tunnel

JAKARTA - Iran is building a defense tunnel in the capital Tehran, following an Israeli attack on military targets in the country some time ago.

The tunnel, located near the city center, will connect Tehran's metro station to Imam Khomeini's hospital, allowing underground access directly to medical facilities.

"For the first time in the country, a tunnel with a defense application is being built in Tehran," the Tehran City Council's head of transportation told the Tasnim news agency.

Last month, Israel launched its first officially recognized attack in Iran, hitting a missile factory and other locations near Tehran and in the western part of the country, in response to an Iranian strike on October 1 in Israeli territory.
