Yudha Arfandi Officially Files An Appeal For Dante's Death Case

JAKARTA - The defendant in the case of Dante's death, Yudha Arfandi, officially filed an appeal against the 20-year prison sentence previously handed down by the East Jakarta District Court (PN).

This was conveyed directly by Yudha Arfandi's attorney, Daliun Sailan, who had signed an appeal deed to the East Jakarta District Court clerk.

"It's been today (11 November). Sign the deed of appeal at the East District Court," said Daliun Sailan via text message, Monday, November 11.

In addition to signing the deed of appeal, Yudha Arfandi will also file a memorandum of appeal containing the allegations against the judge's verdict against him.

"We, the comparison party, within 14 days of the signature of the appeal deed, will file a memorandum of appeal whose material is refuted of legal considerations in the judge's decision," explained Daliun Sailan.

Previously, defendant Yudha Arfandi was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court for the alleged murder of Tamara Tyasmara's late son, Raden Andante Khalif Pramudityo.

"The trial, declared the defendant Yudha Arfandi legally and convincingly guilty of committing the crime of premeditated murder as in the first indictment of the public prosecutor," said the judge when reading the verdict at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, November 4.

"The defendant Yudha Arfandi was sentenced to 20 years in prison and ordered the defendant to remain in detention," he continued.
