Sentences Increased To 4 Years, Ammar Zoni Submits Contra Memories Of Cassation
JAKARTA - The sentence of Ammar Zoni celebrity for the alleged drug abuse case was added by the DKI Jakarta High Court (PT).
Previously, the panel of judges at the West Jakarta District Court sentenced Ammar Zoni to three years in prison. However, the public prosecutor appealed to the DKI Jakarta High Court.
"The defendant was sentenced to one year in prison," reads the appeal decision from the DKI Jakarta High Court, quoted by VOI, Tuesday, November 12.
However, the panel of judges said that the fine, which previously reached Rp. 1 billion, was reduced by PT DKI Jakarta to Rp. 800 million.
"A fine of Rp. 800 million, provided that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for three months," continued the appeal decision from the DKI Jakarta High Court.
Knowing this, Ammar Zoni's attorney, Jon Mathias, said that his client had heard the results of the verdict and admitted that he had surrendered.
"We have informed the results of the verdict, and Ammar has surrendered to the results," said Jon Mathias via text message.
Furthermore, Jon said that his party would send counter-cassation memory.
"We will prepare a counter cassation memorandum because the prosecutor has made an appeal," said Jon Mathias.
