Russian Air Strike Kills 6 People In South Ukraine

JAKARTA Russian airstrikes killed six people and injured 21 others, including five children. The attack also caused fires in several buildings in southern Ukraine.

Five people died in the Mykolaiv region and one person died in the Zaporizhia region and the building where the residence was destroyed, the regional governor said via a Telegram messaging application.

Among the injured victims in Zaporizhia there are five children aged between 4 and 17 years.

Reuters was unable to independently verify the report. There has been no immediate comment from Russia.

Ukrainian air forces said they shot down two missiles and 39 of the 74 Russian-launched drones.

The air force said 30 more drones were lost in Ukrainian airspace and three more remained heading to Belarus and Russia's temporarily occupied territory.

Ukraine and Russia have denied targeting civilians in their attacks, but thousands have died since Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, most of them Ukrainians.

Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia regions as well as most of Ukraine's eastern parts are under airstrike warnings and threats of Russian drone strikes for most of Sunday, November 10 evening.
