Must Go Through Law Not By Marriage To Resolve Cases Of Sexual Violence
SEMARANG - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Arifatul Choiri Fauzi said that the settlement of victims of sexual violence was not by marrying him to the perpetrators.
"The legal process must still be completed. The settlement is not by getting married," said PPPA Minister Arifatul Choiri Fauzi in Semarang, Central Java, Antara, Monday, November 11.
According to him, the settlement of cases of sexual violence should not be rushed. "Explain the position first, then conclude, then do the solution," said Minister Arifatul.
He gave an example in resolving cases of alleged sexual violence against brothers and sisters in Purworejo Regency. Arifatul asked for the case to be resolved completely, including if there were other possible perpetrators.
The PPPA minister ensured that the state was present to protect the children's rights. He also appealed to people who are aware of incidents of sexual violence against children to report to the police.
Previously, the Central Java Regional Police named three suspects in the alleged violence against the brothers and sisters with the initials K (17) and D (15) in Purworejo Regency. The case was handled in two separate police reports.
