The Geological Agency Monitors The Fullness Of 6 Volcanoes In Indonesia Whose Activities Increase
The Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources ensures that all volcanoes in Indonesia will be fully monitored, especially for six volcanoes with alert and alert status whose volcanic activity has increased significantly in the last few days.
"That is what is increasing activities such as Mount Lewotobi Men, Yes, Marapi and others, will continue to be identified. I think this is our challenge going forward," said Head of the Geological Agency Muhammad Wafid, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, November 10.
Currently, based on data from the level of volcanic activity from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) of the Geological Agency as of today, Saturday, it was reported that five volcanoes were on alert status and one was on alert status.
Gunung yang berstatus siaga antara lain, Gunung Awu (Kelauan Sangihe, Sulawesi Utara), Gunung Ibu (Pulau Halmahera, Maluku) Gunung Yaya (Kabaten Ende, Nusa Tenggara Timur), Gunung Marapi (Kabupaten Tanah Datar dan Agam, Sumatera Barat) dan Gunung Merapi (Jawa Tengah-DI Yogyakarta).
Furthermore, Mount Lewotobi Male in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, which starts in the early hours of Monday (4/11/2024) is set to be vigilant.
"We always disseminate it to the community, local governments in particular, an increase in status is carried out so that it can be used as a reference in anticipating every possibility," he said.
Some of the significant activities observed by the PVMBG Geological Agency, for example, such as Mount Merapi, which launched 11 lava avalanches with a maximum sliding distance of 1.6 kilometers accompanied by eruption seismic activity, on Friday (8/11/2024).
Recently, Mount Lewotobi Male in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara spewed volcanic ash about 9 kilometers into the air from the summit of the volcanic crater or 10 kilometers from sea level, Saturday morning.
The eruption of Mount Lewotobi The man is known to be much bigger than the four eruptions that occurred on Friday (8/11/2024) at 12.00-18.00 WITA.
To that end, Wafid ensured that the volcanology officers would be at the forefront who were always on standby not only observing but fully identifying every volcanic activity for 24 hours as has been done so far.
He is also committed that the results of these observations can be broadcasted quickly and accurately to the public so as to avoid the risk of damage or casualties due to volcanic activity.
