Message On Heroes' Day, TNI Commander: To Be Proud, The Young Generation Must Know History

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said that the younger generation must know the history or background of the country's establishment so that it will love it more in the future.

In the midst of the current development of technology and culture, said TNI General Agus Subiyanto, young people must understand the existing national values so as not to lose their way in leading the nation and state in the future.

"Yes, the younger generation must know history, so that they are proud of their own country, namely Indonesia," said the TNI Commander after attending the 2024 Hero's Day Commemoration Ceremony at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), quoted by ANTARA, Jakarta, Sunday, November 10.

According to him, love for the country will grow if young people know how the struggles of the founders of the previous nation, as well as heroes who continue to defend the integrity or sovereignty of the country.

Therefore, a commemoration ceremony like today is very important for all stakeholders to reflect themselves to do more optimally and positively for the country.

"It is important to remember that ( Hero's Day)," said the TNI Commander.

Apart from knowing history, continued General TNI Agus, young people must also emulate the spirit of patriotism of previous fighters so that they have the motivation to participate in doing the same thing.

Meanwhile, the Hero's Day Commemoration Ceremony at TMP Kalibata was led directly by Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The vice president acted as inspector of the ceremony leading the commemoration solemnly.

During the ceremony, it was seen that a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, the head of the institution, and the Presidential Special Envoy Prabowo Subianto were present as participants in the ceremony.

The ministers who attended included Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai.

After attending the ceremony, Vice President Gibran and the participants sowed flowers at a number of tombs at TMP Kalibata.
