Makassar Proposed To UNESCO To Be A City Of Gastronomi
JAKARTA - Head of the Makassar City Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraft) Moh Roem said that he continued to propose Makassar City to become a gastronomi city to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Roem said that Makassar had become one of the four candidates proposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) as the city of Indonesia gastronomi.
"God willing, next year we will try to upload the required documents again, although they are not recommended, but we are trying to upload them and they are allowed. We will submit and finish," Roem explained, quoting Antara.
The city of Gastronomi is a city that serves various aspects of food, including the art of preparing dishes and is related to philosophy, socio-culture, and anthropology.
According to Roem, his party will begin to make improvements based on the latest evaluation of the selection of Gastronomi City by UNESCO. The two years for determining the title is considered sufficient to prepare various needs related to this matter.
Therefore, Disparekraft will soon form a special team to prepare and fill the gastronomi city form, because this has a positive impact on the community.

"We are targeting Makassar next year to become a city of gastronomi in the right ways. Starting from the submission on the link, although it is not proposed," he said.
Roem explained that becoming a gastrononomic city certainly opens up opportunities for cooperation in the culinary industry. In addition, cities that have become cities of gastronomi have the opportunity to cooperate with Indonesia.
"So our F&B players, our culinary players, can network with people who are already on the track of that level network. So that they can strengthen their business, can strengthen their position and membrane the city," he said.
So that branding from Kota Makan Samak turned into a gastronomi city is the destination and hope of the Makassar City Government at this time.
