Sanctioned About The Results Of The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election Survey, Poltracking Asks The Ethics Council To Be Quiet Sorry To The Public

JAKARTA - Executive Director of Poltracking Indonesia Hanta Yuda AR asked the Indonesian Public Opinion Survey Association (Persepi) to apologize to the public for causing Poltracking's good name.

"I hope (Persepi) apologizes to the public because it has harmed us, especially our good name," said Hanta at a press conference in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 8.

Hanta explained that the Poltracking survey system had all been digitized.

The digitization, according to Hanta, could be one of the reasons why Persepi was unable to check or verify the two data sets provided by Poltracking.

"There may be an error or inability from those who want to check, verify, cannot go any deeper, or reluctance, or inability, then rush to make a decision," he said.

Regarding the problem of two data sets, Hanta clarified that the two data sets that Poltracking gave to the Persepi Ethics Council were the same data set.

As he explained, the difference between the two data sets lies in the process that is being passed. One data is raw data, while the other set has gone through the verification process.

"That's the same data set. Please open it in it. Even though the format, maybe the technicality is different, but the content is the same, "said Hanta.

Therefore, he asked the Persepi Ethics Council to publicly apologize for imposing sanctions on Poltracking.

"I appeal, tapping the conscience of the Ethics Council, should apologize," said Hanta.

The Indonesian Poltracking survey institute declared it out of the Indonesian Public Opinion Survey Association (Persepi) membership, on Tuesday (5/11).

The decision came after the Persepi ethics board imposed sanctions on Poltracking Indonesia because of differences in the results of the electability survey of three pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta between Poltracking Indonesia and the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI).

The LSI survey shows the highest electability of Pramono Anung-Rano Karno in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada with 41.6 percent. Followed by Ridwan Kamil-Suswono in second place with 37.4 percent and Dharma-Kun in the most distended position with 6.6 percent.

The LSI survey was conducted on October 10, 2024 with 1,200 respondents using the multistage method with a margin of error rate of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

Meanwhile, Poltracking Indonesia said Ridwan Kamil-Suswono's electability reached 51.6 percent.

RK-Suswono ahead of candidate pair number three, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno in second place with electability of 36.4 percent. Then in third place there is Paslon number 2, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardhana with 3.9 percent.

The Poltracking survey was conducted on October 10' 16 2024 against 2,000 respondents from DKI who have the right to vote aged 17 years and over or are married.

The survey used a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of approximately 2.2 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

This difference resulted in the Persepi Ethics Council which imposed sanctions on Poltracking Indonesia, namely not being allowed to publish survey results without obtaining data approval and examination by the Persepi Ethics Council.

Sanctions were imposed after Persepi completed an investigation into the procedures for implementing the survey conducted by the Indonesian Survey Institute and Poltracking Indonesia.
