Coordinating Minister AHY Reveals This Infrastructure Development Target In The Coordination Meeting Of The Ministry Of Public Works

The Ministry of Public Works (PU) held a Coordination Decree on the Integrated Regional Infrastructure Development (Rakorangwil) Meeting at the Ministry of Public Works Auditorium, Jakarta, Friday, November 8.

The Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Regional Infrastructure and Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) reminded that the five technical ministries and institutions under its coordination could be more integrated.

"So, today's coordination meeting is certainly important to equalize goals and achieve medium targets that are visible and can be carried out thoroughly. The target must be measured and support the vision of Mr. Prabowo," AHY said at a press conference at the Public Works Ministry Auditorium, Jakarta, Friday, November 8.

However, to achieve this, all these targets are faced with limitations, especially in terms of budgets. So, we must be sure that infrastructure development is efficient, productive and has an impact on society, from Aceh to Papua. AHY emphasized that there is no inequality.

According to him, the government's task is to convince the public that the infrastructure built in the future will be better. Thus, inequality between regions can be further suppressed.

"We have to be really careful in setting programs that directly touch the community, especially to improve the quality of life and capacity of human resources which are often indicated whether education is good, health is decent. This includes having a good job and income," said AHY.

"And here the Minister of Public Works (Dody Hanggodo) can elaborate with short-term, medium-sized targets that can improve education. Examples of improving schools and madrasas," he continued.

The chairman of the Democratic Party assessed that one form of the program was right on target for the use of this budget, namely the construction and renovation of schools.

AHY said that the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, would carry out renovations for many schools next year with a total of tens of thousands.

"The construction of school renovations has started in 2024. We have verified the initial data and validated it. We plan to really start 2025 (starting) throughout Indonesia, the target is more than 11,000," he said.
